THE SHOW MUST GO ON

| The Thirteenth Cycle is an unmoderated musebox run by

redpyre based on the Drift Fleet, set in a speculative-post-canon version of the setting. The Drift Fleet was a monumental creative endeavor brought to life by every one of its incredible players and dedicated mods over the years, and continues to stand as its own musebox and testament to all of that incredible work. Thirteenth Cycle is a little side project that explores some branching world-building without touching the original canon, with more notes of survival and cosmic horror than the original game had. |

The season finale wrapped, didn't it? The credits rolled, the captives were freed, the monolithic villain fell. The twelfth cycle of the Drift Fleet proved to be its last, and all the cameras went dark.

However, somewhere along the way, something went wrong.

Something is moving. For the first time in many, many years, passengers are sporadically being dragged to a place in space and time that they don't belong to, but it's hard to tell if there is anything there to greet them this time.

Floating in the sort of silence that is full of lonely and ancient tension, the fleet feels like an armada of ghost ships, and they're still hungry for passengers.

MUSEBOX PROTOCOL:

• Very generally speaking (until I can write more definite details for folks to use or ignore as they wish), something is pulling passengers from their worlds into the drift fleet again, but there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it. Everything is old and neglected, with it being hit-or-miss how much of the automated functions are still functioning.

• Since this is just a musebox and nothing here is canon, feel free to tweak and play with things! Are you being sent to the ships as normal, or are you stuck in the maze of the Marsiva? Are there space stations as there used to be? Do you need to scavenge for supplies on uninhabited planets?

• Also, since this is not a real game, there will be no official canon as far as timelines and things like ship crews and whatnot. Think of every thread as existing on its own, unless certain players want to imply their own mini-canon that is continuing between their characters.

• Everyone's headcanon of what they're picturing for the state of the fleet will be different. For example, someone might be imagining a bunch of passengers existing together in the fleet, while someone else might imply that their character has been all alone in a ship for years.

• Make sure to be clear whether something is open for everyone to tag into, or closed to a specific person/people, so no one has to wonder or get confused.

• This is just a place to relax and have fun! The lone mod will occasionally put up mingles or things to react to, but this isn't a game with a canon, and things here will be unmoderated for all intents and purposes. So, please be courteous to folks you tag with, and use common sense like warning for sensitive topics and trigger warnings on public posts/top-levels.
